Who is Tempo for?

Freelancers and independent consultants who bill clients by the day or hour. Tempo is built around a concept most generic time trackers miss: the difference between your contracted budget (what you promised the client) and your internal target (what you need to hit to actually make a profit).

How is Tempo different from Toggl or Harvest?

Most trackers just log hours. Tempo adds budget awareness on top. Every project has two numbers — a contracted ceiling and a profit target — and the app shows you at a glance whether you're on track or eating into your margin. The 'committed time' metric (logged + planned together) also means you can see the problem before it happens, not after.

What does 'committed time' mean?

Logged time only tells you where you've been. Committed time adds your planned future entries too, so you see the full picture: if you've logged 3 days and have 2 days planned on a 4-day project, you're already over budget — even though you've only spent 3 days.

Can I track both billable and non-billable work?

Yes. Projects are either client (billable) or admin (internal — learning, business development, admin tasks). The summary page shows your billable ratio so you know how much of your time is actually earning.

Does it handle invoicing?

Tempo includes basic invoice tracking: you can log invoices against projects, set statuses (draft, sent, paid), track due dates, and see overdue amounts on the summary page. It's not an accounting tool — it's designed to give freelancers visibility without switching tabs.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet. Tempo is currently a web app. A mobile-friendly experience is on the roadmap.

What does it cost?

We're in early access right now. Pricing will be announced when we open to the public. Join the waitlist to be notified first.

How is my data stored?

Your data is stored on Supabase, a Postgres-based platform with row-level security — meaning your data is strictly isolated from other users at the database level. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I import data from another tool?

Yes. Tempo has a CSV import for time entries, so you can bring data from Toggl, Harvest, or any tool that can export to CSV.

Will there be team / multi-user support?

Not in the current version. Tempo is built for solo freelancers. Team support for small agencies is on the roadmap.
